Hampstead is Hopping

Today we went for a walk around Hampstead, a lovely neighborhood a few Tube stops from Suzie's childhood home in Hendon. We spent the afternoon windowshopping (and in Suzie's case, shopping proper), then settled in at a pub for a few pints of bitter whilst (anglophonic for "while") waiting to meet Suzie's old friend Niina for dinner.

It was pretty dark in the pub, so no pictures of the savory pies we ate for dinner, but Suzie managed to catch me in mid-quaff, enjoying my draught--a fantastic cask-conditioned bitter at cellar temperature. The neighborhood was really something--here is a picture of a local, having a bit of a post-prandial stroll (note the cool wrought iron boot scraper built into the wall just to the left behind Mr. Dimples).
